This widget bundle supports user in searching for learning content related to an interesting subject and organizing it in a personal learning environment, for example in iGoogle. To use the widget bundle one has to create an account by personal learning environment or by learning management system, add the widget bundle and create a login or user for the widgets included. This widget bundle consists of two widgets: Media Search Widget and Media List Widget, which serve to find learning content and to organize it in media lists. Tagging, sharing and commenting functionalities as well as collaborative creating of media lists are planned.
The Media Search Widget's purpose is to simplify the search for learning content in various content providing platforms like YouTube, SlideShare, OpenScout, Wikipedia and Globe. The retrieved search results can be rated to supply additional information to other participants of the search system. In addition the Media Search Widget offers functionalities to share search results with others via email, social platforms or a learning management system. These social features allow users to gather information in an engaging and collaborative way while deepening their knowledge to a subject.

Screenshot 1: The Media Search Widget
The Media List Widget helps learner to find, organize and manage subject specific content from various platforms like mentioned, in which the user is logged in. The learning content found can be easily added to a learning content list, so called media list, where it can be organized and edited. In the future there will be two main types of lists available: private lists that can be seen and edited only by the user and to be shared with his/her contacts with a read only restriction or with an editing permission, and public lists that can be seen and searched through by all users. At the moment only public lists are available.

Screenshot 2: The Media List Widget
Learning content found with the Media Search Widget can be easily added to a list created with the Media List Widget. For example, a student wants to prepare for his English exam. With help of the Media Search List he looks for English grammar aids, exercise collections and explanations, which can be in text, audio or video format. After finding some useful material, he creates a new list English Grammar with the Media List Widget and adds the learning content he likes. Now he can edit his list, add or delete resources.

Searching for media and creating media lists
Frank is a student of informatics writing his bachelor thesis on the subject of modeling languages. Frank wants to find information on modeling languages and organize it in lists to simplify his work. He starts with Unified Modeling Language (UML) and Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) using the Search and Organize Media widget bundle installed in his personal learning environment.
At the first step, Frank searches for media lists of other users with the Media List widget. Unfortunately, he does not find any lists related to UML or BPMN and decides to create his own lists. He clicks on Create button and enters name and description of the UML media list. After that he repeats the same procedure to create a BPMN media list.

At the second step, Frank searches for media using the Media Search widget. He reads descriptions of the media found and watches videos. Also Frank rates media viewed and shares the best of them with his fellow students writing their thesis on similar topics. Frank sends all the useful media to the Media List widget to add them to his media lists at the next step.
Screenshot 2: Searching for Media
In the New Items directory Frank views his media one more time and adds some of them to the UML or BPMN media lists by clicking on the Add to the List button and selecting appropriate media list. After that, he clicks on the Manage button to organize lists he created.
